Senior Morgan Schwinn Receives Maine Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship

The Maine Sports Hall of Fame (MSHOF) announced the winners of five $5,000 scholarships.

The winners were selected from 186 completed applications. MSHOF Vice Chair Lisa Hook remarks, "Even after coping with the pandemic during their junior and senior years of high school, this group of scholar-athletes continued to impress. They remained focused on their academics and athletics albeit in a new format, and found creative ways of staying connected to their communities."

"As outstanding as the candidates are, it was difficult to select them from such a talented field," said MSHOF Executive Director Bill Green." Maine is producing some sensational kids and they are coming from all over."

Morgan is a three-time All State selection in volleyball. (No team was selected this year.) She is Vice President of her class and has maintained an active role in her community while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. She will attend the University of Maine where she intends to play volleyball at the club level.

The Maine Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held September 26th at the Merrill Auditorium in Portland. More information is available at  https://www.mshof.com/ or by calling Bill Green at 207.807.7666.
