Washington Academy has the following part time positions to fill:
Substitute Dormitory Staff (applicants must be 21 or older).
Hours will vary.
Typically the dormitory substitute will maintain a safe and respectful dormitory. Make sure that students sign in and out, report any behavioral issues, make sure that students clean up after themselves when using the common room for activities.
Fitness Center/Gym Attendant (applicants must be 21 or older)
Hours will vary, but are generally a 4 hour block of time as follows: 3:00 to 5:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday through Thursday and 6:00 to 10:00 PM Friday and Saturday. These hours can vary based on holidays and which grading period WA is in at the time.
The Fitness Center/Gym Attendant will need to report any student behavioral issues. Make sure the students clean up and put away any equipment that they use, report any issues with broken equipment and ensure students are using the equipment for its intended purpose.
Local Shuttle Bus Driver (applicants must be 25 or older and pass a driving background check)
Hours are Wednesday and Friday 2:15 PM to 5:15 PM, Saturday and Sunday 12:50 PM to 5:15 PM. There are also a few other days that we offer the shuttle service and these vary throughout the school year.
The driver will be responsible for maintaining a safe driving environment, keeping an accurate count of students taken to and from Machias, reporting any issues with student behavior and any maintenance concerns of the vehicle.
If hired the successful candidate for any of the above positions will be required hold a current CHRC (Criminal History Record Check) through the Maine Department of Education.
