Congratulations! Making the decision to attend Washington Academy is the first step in the right direction. New Student Orientation will be a great time to make new friends, meet your teachers, and ask questions. You’ll find out where your classes will be held, be assigned a locker, and learn about all the cool extra-curricular activities WA has to offer.
A little overwhelmed? Don’t worry, it’s normal. A lot of students that attend WA came from small community schools and are just as nervous as you are. Each new student will be paired with an upper-class mentor. These student leaders know just how you’re feeling and are there to give you the inside scoop on classes, sports teams, social functions, and academics.
And while graduation is still a few years away, it’s never too early to start thinking about what you’d like to do after your time at WA. Talk with your guidance counselor to make sure you are taking challenging classes and getting involved in extra-curricular activities.
