In 2006, the WA Board of Trustees initiated a campaign to raise money to expand the facilities on campus based on a study that determined the feasibility of doing just that. The plan includes the construction of a new addition to the Gardner Gymnasium for Arts and Music, improvements to the well-used athletic fields, development of a cross country trail and the installation of four tennis courts, all needs identified by the community and the school as priorities for the coming years.
With the growing student population, the plan also includes the addition of six flexible classroom spaces in the Arts and Music addition.
The goal for the Academy’s first-ever Capital Campaign is $1.875 million.
Chairing the campaign is WA Board President Richard Gardner and his wife Margaret.
Capital Campaign contributions and pledges can be made over a three to five year period. Naming and recognition opportunities are available, as well. WA plans to break ground in the Spring of 2010.
