Annual Fund
Leadership. Stewardship. Citizenship.

Richard Gardner, Chairman of the WA Board of Trustees announced the launch of the 2009-2010 Annual Fund Appeal.  Heading up this year’s campaign-Leadership. Stewardship. Citizenship.

The $30,000 goal will support student programs and services, the majority funding the new Outdoor Leadership and Resource Management class that will develop leadership, management and decision making skills and allow students to choose careers as a Maine guide or in the ecotourism industry.  In addition, this year’s Annual Fund will support ever-improving technology on campus, another way WA keeps pace with today’s students needs.  Classrooms will also benefit from funding raised in many different ways.

The focus of this year’s Annual Fund Appeal is an ongoing effort at WA.  Our faculty and staff already set examples for our students by being involved in alternative energy research, volunteering in area community events, hosting after school activities and recycling on and off campus.

Washington Academy’s 2010 Annual Appeal is supported by an extremely strong alumni base.  Last year’s annual contributions of $32,905.85 impacted 438 students lives. It’s impact was seen in the library, on the field, in our music, our cafeteria, art and math. We would like to do this again.  Your support of the Washington Academy Annual Fund Appeal has immediate and lasting impact on the lives of our students and is the most important gift to the school you can give.

If you are interested in the 2009-2010 Annual Fund Appeal, have questions or would like to contribute please call Washington Academy for more information at 255-8316 extension 214.  You can also go to http://www.washingtonacademy.org/give_online/ to make your donation at your convenience 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
