Congratulations! Your senior has come a long way – but the journey isn’t quite over yet. It’s time for you and your child to make some big decisions. If they are planning on attending a college, university, or technical school, they need to narrow down their choices to 5 to 10. Make a master calendar with college application due dates and financial aid deadlines.
Acceptance letters and financial aid packages should start appearing in your mailbox by mid-April. Once your student has decided on what college to attend and you have sent out the deposit it’s time to take a deep breath and pat your child on the back.
Is your student thinking about getting a job after high school? Make sure they visit the guidance office with help on creating a top-notch resume.
For many students, their senior year is their most memorable. This is their last chance to attend a Raiders basketball game, get involved in the drama club, or run for student council. Encourage them to get involved. It’s also the last time you as parents can get involved in WA. Join the Boosters Club or help plan Project Graduation. Memories are being made every day at WA.
