The cross country regional meet was held on Saturday, October 21, in Belfast. Junior, Matyas Nachtigall placed 4th overall for the Washington Academy boys team. He also qualified for the Class B Cross Country State Championship Meet scheduled for this Saturday, October 28 at Greeley High School in Cumberland, Maine. Matyas is a WA residential student from the Czech Republic. He joined us this fall to pursue his favorite subjects of math and physics. In addition to his academic pursuits he is also here to pursue his passion as a runner. He began competing in his country at any early age and is thrilled to be running internationally. Once cross country ends, Matyas will dive into the swimming pool and compete on the Washington Academy swim team this winter. Matyas is excited to be studying and competing in the United States. He states, "I am ready to adapt and bring my full potential to your community." Congratulations and good luck at states, Matyas!
