Our student ambassadors have been very busy over the last few weeks! They have been out visiting local grammar schools talking to 8th graders and helping them with their high school transition. Ambassadors also escorted 8th graders through a typical day at WA during Explore WA Day on Thursday, April 6th. They will also continue to welcome and help new students during Step Up Day in May and New Student Orientation in September. Thank you student ambassadors!

Thursday April 6th over one hundred eighth graders visited WA to experience a day of high school. The day began with breakfast and a juggling performance by Audio Body. The future freshman than enjoyed traveling around campus and visiting classroom presentations from WA faculty. After lunch Audio Body performed for the group demonstrating various musical and light show theatrics. Some of which even included audience participation! The Explore WA evening began later with dinner and followed with an open house featuring classroom curriculum to eighth graders and their parents. It was a great day for exploring new opportunities and making new friends!

Write up by WA Junior Dillon Preston
"During the 25th Annual Jobs for Maine's Graduates Career Development Conference or "CDC" trip hosted at Thomas College, high school JMG students around the state came together as one in Waterville, Maine to do a number of different activities and learn valuable knowledge to help progress them through life. Here at Washington Academy, a group of determined Juniors and Seniors who were fortunate enough to get a chance to go on such an exciting and amazing trip. These students were eager to show off their skills to the rest of JMG. They competed in a handful of events that challenged them and put them in situations that they had to persevere and overcome obstacles, some as a team and some by themselves in 1-on-1 events like Interview Skills."
WA JMG received 6 trophies including two for first place, three for second place, and one for third place! Congratulations Mrs. Lenfestey and JMG students.
