Earlier this month, WA students were temporarily transported back to the 18th century. Through a Maine Arts Commission SMART grant, received by the Tides Institute in Eastport, Amos Paul Kennedy Jr. from Alabama was able to visit area schools to display a form of art from years gone by. Mr. Kennedy creates posters with authentic type presses.  He held a workshop on letterpress poster printing.  Students took great pleasure in creating posters with Mr. Kennedy, in a fashion that is isolated to those artists with a passion and talent with this lost art form.
