JMG Invites You

Jobs for Maine’s Graduates (JMG) invites you to the 15th annual induction ceremony of the Washington Academy JMG Program to be held at the Albee-Richardson Building on Tuesday, January 24 at 6:30 PM. JMG students will be inducted into the JMG Career Association. This years ceremony will be an informational meeting where students will speak on the different projects they have participated in. Please come support the Jobs for Maine Graduates Programs and its members.

Cheering


Not only can you see the Washington Academy cheerleaders at basketball games and cheering competitions, they also enjoy performing at other venues as they strive to make a positive difference in their community. Over the holidays, the WA cheerleaders visited Davis Estates and the Maine Veterans’ Home delivering ornaments and cards as well as performing the cheers they have perfected at basketball games. Residents of both facilities thoroughly enjoyed the visit as they aren’t able to attend the games.  

On January 21, 2012 the Washington Academy Cheerleaders will be competing at Sumner High School at 11:00 AM.

On January 28, 2012 the Washington Academy Cheerleaders will be competing in the Eastern Maine cheering competition at the Bangor Auditorium.
 
220 Years of Excellence in Education

Washington Academy is celebrating its 220th year of providing excellent education to generations in Washington County and beyond. We’re currently looking for pictures, stories, news articles, etc. pertaining to Washington Academy history for our 220th year celebration publication. Final Exams

The period 3 and 4 exams that were scheduled for Friday will happen on Monday, the 23rd.

Period 3: 8:00-9:30
Period 4: 9:45-11:15
*Make up exams are to be conducted from 12:00-1:30

Sports Update

All practices are canceled for Friday, the 20th. The Boys Basketball Game vs. Old Town which was scheduled for Friday, the 20th, will be Saturday, the 21st, at 1:00/2:30 PM. The bus will leave at 9:30 AM.

Save The Date

Washington Academy will be hosting its Florida Alumni reunion on Saturday, March 10, 2012 in Seminole, Florida. The gathering will be happening at Perkin’s Restaurant & Bakery from 3:00-5:00 PM. Ski Club

The Washington Academy Ski Club is gearing up and looking for students. Any interested students, from beginner to advanced, should contact Mr. Aceto for more information. Lessons and rentals can be made available if needed. Join the ski club and hit the slopes!
