The Ball Is In The Court!

Mark and MaryLou McGuire (pictured above with Head of School, Judson McBrine) are the first to make a major gift towards Washington Academy’s Capital Campaign as the "Cutler Lobstermen Challenge" begins. The goal of the challenge is to raise enough money to build an additional tennis court for both students and community members to utilize. Mark and Mary Lou are happy to play an important part of bringing tennis to Washington Academy and supporting youth in our area.

WA's Varsity Football Team Earns LTC Good Sportsmanship Award

The young men who participated in WA's first competitive season of Varsity football since the 1930's were honored recently with an award that was independent of their athleticism or effort in learning the sport. As the recipients of the Little Ten Conference's Good Sportsmanship Award, WA's team was recognized for its character and fair play--a collective trait that brings pride to the entire school. Congratulations team!

Winter Music Concert Brings Cheer

On December 6th, the talented members of WA's Concert Band, Steel Drums, Guitar Class, Concert Chorus and Jazz Band performed a selection of holiday favorites, classic and modern hits, and unusual melodies before an enthusiastic crowd. The audience was entertained with perennially uplifting pieces and harmonious blends of instruments and vocals as the students moved seamlessly between ensembles. The impressive versatility of the entire group of young musicians delighted the patrons, who departed with holiday cheer and delicious baked goods that were sold to support WA's music program.
