English Language Studies

english studies No matter what your English level is now, at Washington Academy, you'll be speaking English fluently and understanding American culture sooner than you imagine!

While many schools require a minimum TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score before admission, we do not. This is because we have seen how quickly students at all levels progress once they are in an all-English environment.

In our English Language Classes (also called ESL - English as a Second Language) you will learn from everything around you. We listen to song lyrics, read magazines, act out scenes from movies and play computer games. We might take you to the bank or to a grocery store to practice your English. We also have advanced word recognition software to help you master your pronunciation. You will also learn to write college essays.

Are you an advanced English speaker? Washington Academy's full time professional tutor will help you study for the TOEFL. She also works with you to improve any weaknesses in your speaking, writing or understanding English.

Your parents understand how important "the language of global commerce" is to your future success. At Washington Academy, we do what it takes to make sure you graduate with the strongest English skills possible.
