Headmaster
Judson McBrine combines several essential
leadership qualities. He is fair and impartial
with students. He is supportive of teachers
and staff. Mr. McBrine is a man who is
able to stay focused on long-term goals—yet
is always available to those around him.
Mr. McBrine comes from a family of
educators (his father once taught at
Washington Academy) and is well respected
in the local community. His ability
to create and sustain a caring, first-class
learning environment at Washington Academy
has attracted the attention of students
and their parents from around the world.
Mr. McBrine holds a Master's in Educational
Leadership and a Bachelor's in Education
from the University of Maine. He is
married to Paula McBrine, who teaches
English at the Academy.
During "off duty" time, Mr. McBrine
enjoys fishing and camping with his
son, Jake, walking the beach, gardening,
and reading. The McBrine family welcomed
a new baby boy, Landon, in August 2003.
