Martha Jordan is funny. One of her
favorite sayings is, "Math has never
caused any fatalities."
She is dedicated. Her core mission
in life, in fact, is simply "to serve."
Mrs. Jordan is full of surprises.
She is a Captain in the Merchant Marines
and is licensed to pilot a vessel of
up to 100 gross tons up to 100 miles
offshore.
Mrs. Jordan loves math. She loves
"how the laws all reinforce each other
and allow for growth and expansion,
that the laws I teach in Algebra 1are
still used to help explain calculus.
It all dovetails together."
Mrs. Jordan loves her students. "They
make me smile all the time. I work with
the greatest staff and the greatest
young people in all the world."
Mrs. Jordan is in her 27th year at
Washington Academy. She teaches Algebra
1, Geometry, and Precalculus/Advanced
Math.
