University
of Maine at Machias
Washington Academy has a close relationship
with the University of Maine at Machias
(UMM). Our students have the opportunity
to take classes at the UMM during their
junior and senior years. All boarding
students can enjoy the University's
workout center, library and fitness
classes—for no cost!
At the UMM Center for Lifelong Learning,
Washington Academy students can:
- Swim in an Olympic-sized pool
- Play racquetball
- Take yoga or karate classes
- Work with a personal trainer
The UMM Student Center, also open
to Washington Academy students, has
pool tables, video games, a coffee house,
movies and live entertainment. And Washington
Academy provides shuttle service to
UMM.
