Annual Fund FAQ
With a goal of $50,000, Washington Academy launches into the next decade with its continued commitment to excellence by supporting its expanding music offerings with the addition of a Steel Band program; enhancing the Marine Technologies Curriculum with a new Marine Diesel Engines program; supporting the more than 30 students on WA’s Math Team; starting a wrestling program; and continuing to support the scholars fund that allows students to attend WA.
Contributing to our Annual Fund is fast and easy. Here are a number of convenient options.
1. Donate online!
2. Write a check. Make your check payable to Washington Academy and mail to WA Development Office, PO Box 190, East Machias, ME 04630.
3. Charge it. Call our Business Office at 207.255.8301 ex. 218 and see how easy it is to make a donation over the phone by charging it to your credit card.
4. Make a gift of securities. Donating appreciated securities to Washington Academy is a great way to make a large and meaningful gift without paying capital gains tax. Donors may deduct the full value of the stock at the time of the gift and are not subject to capital gains tax. Call our Development Office at 207.255.8301 ex. 209.
5. Matching gifts. If your company has a matching gift program, your gift may be doubled or tripled! If you are not sure whether or not your company provides matching gifts, please call us, we'd be happy to help you. Matching gifts from your company will contribute to your level of giving at WA.
6. We are happy to accept gifts in honor or memory of loved ones.
