Location
Washington Academy is a small private high school located on the rocky coast of Maine. East Machias embodies everything that is great about small town America. It’s a safe, rural environment with one of the lowest crime rates in the nation. There are also abundant cultural and outdoors activities in the area that appeal to students of all ages and interests.

Academics
Learning at WA is highly individualized. The Academy offers a wide variety of courses at different difficulty levels so that everyone can reach their potential. WA’s accomplished faculty and small class size mean that each student receives individual attention, which studies show translates to faster learning.

Hands-On Learning
Washington Academy is not an ordinary high school. WA’s study opportunities go beyond basic academics to include studies in outdoor adventure tourism and guiding, coastal ecology, boatbuilding, nursing, culinary arts, new media studies, marine diesel engine, and automotive repair.
