Washington Academy combines its historical educational mission with a commitment to staying on top of emerging technology.

Since computers are part of daily life, we make them part of every classroom. Students can use any one of five computer labs outfitted with current, professional software and high-speed Internet access. Our curriculum also reflects this commitment, with class offerings ranging from HTML programming to desktop publishing. Even our residential houses are wired: each dorm room has high-speed Internet access.

Our library is another example of our commitment to cutting edge technology. Research capabilities students can access include an extensive online system of subscription databases through the University of Maine.

Our Technology Integration Lab greatly enhances our "digitally-based" classes such as graphic design, web design, animation, photo imaging, sound editing and music composition. Using the lab's large LCD projector, the teacher can allow students to share, collaborate and improve on their work by projecting any on-screen image for all to view.
